Frequently asked questions
The objectives of this tour are:
- To reconnect with our roots after an extended period in exile, particularly for the younger generation who have not had the opportunity to live in or visit their homeland.
- To visit various religious and spiritual sites in the valley that have deep historical significance for our community, spanning thousands of years.
- To engage in discussions about the challenges our community faces as we work to establish ourselves away from home, and to collaboratively create a roadmap for addressing these issues.
The pricing will be based on the number of days attended. The organizers will arrange lunch and dinner for each day of the tour, negotiating the best prices with vendors for different menu items. Transportation costs will also be calculated. Based on these factors, a per-head daily rate will be determined, ensuring it reflects the best-negotiated quotes. The organizers will make every effort to keep the costs economical and fair. Payment details will be shared by the organizers.
Please note that registration does not confirm your attendance. The organizing committee will validate the information provided before sending a confirmation. This process is in place to ensure the safety and integrity of the event by screening all delegates. The organizers reserve the right to reject any registration. Delegate capacity is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
The organizers were initially eager to schedule the heritage tour during the summer months. However, after conducting research, we found that summer would pose significant logistical challenges due to the peak tourist season, as well as increase expenses for travel, boarding, and lodging for attendees.
The organizers have identified community assets and range of hotels offering discounted rates. Details of these options will be provided to delegates during registration, and delegates will need to contact the facilities directly to make their reservations.
The logistics team is working on the details and will share more information as we progress.
The organizers will approach the relevant ministries at both the GOI and J&K to seek permission for the tour and request full security coverage for the initiative.
Organizers will make initial preparation for 500 individuals and increase the capacity based on community interest and demand.
We welcome all community members to get involved. Please reach out to organizers to learn more about volunteering opportunities.
While the organizers are making every effort to ensure the initiative runs smoothly, they cannot be held responsible for any untoward incident. The organizers are facilitating the tour, and each delegate will be required to sign a waiver acknowledging this. Participation is voluntary.
Donors are the lifeblood of any initiative. We encourage you to reach out to the organizers, who will provide information on the sponsorship process.
